This competition track is open to all projects that use data analytics and/or artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to resolve problems.

Data analytics is the discipline of examining unprocessed data to draw inferences about that data. Numerous methods and procedures used in data analytics have been automated into mechanical procedures and algorithms that operate on raw data for human consumption.

AI is a field of study that aims to develop intelligent machine thinking and behavior. The development of computing technologies has made it possible for computationally demanding AI algorithms to run at speeds that are close to real-time, allowing AI technologies to become more widely used and impacting our daily lives.

AI is everywhere. It's not just powering applications like smart assistants, machine translation, and automated driving, it's also giving engineers and scientists a set of techniques for tackling common tasks in new ways. With MATLAB, you are ready for AI even if you have no experience with machine learning. You can use apps to quickly try out different approaches and apply your domain expertise to prepare the data.

Design & Implementation

MATLAB makes the hard parts of machine learning easy with: Point-and-click apps for training and comparing models. Advanced signal processing and feature extraction techniques. Automatic machine learning (AutoML) includes feature selection, model selection and hyperparameter tuning. Interoperability enables you to fully utilize the MATLAB ecosystem and incorporate it with tools created by the open-source community. Models created outside of MATLAB can be combined with workflows that include automatic code generation, model tuning, model compression, model integration, and data-centric preprocessing.
